Excellence in Hospitality and Tourism Services – less than 20 employees

Excellence in Hospitality and Tourism Services – 20 or more employees

Open to restaurants cafes, take away food and catering services, pubs, clubs, night clubs and entertainment venues, Winery restaurants/cafes and cellar doors, tourist attractions, tours, tour operations and guides, boutique hotels, guest houses, B&Bs, hotel, motel, backpacker accommodation and youth hostels, heritage and cultural activities, creative and performing arts companies, theatres, libraries and parks, gardens including artists and musicians, etc.

Excellence in Personal and Lifestyle Services – less than 20 employees

Excellence in Personal and Lifestyle Services – 20 or more employees

Open to beauticians, hairdressers, barbers, makeup artists and manicurists.  Fitness companies, personal trainers, gyms and sporting facilities.  Interior decorators, customers, dress makers, clothing repairs, laundry/launderettes and shoe repairs.

Excellence in Manufacturing, Agribusiness, Mining, Construction, Industrial and Trade – less than 20 employees

Excellence in Manufacturing, Agribusiness, Mining, Construction, Industrial and Trade – 20 or more employees

Open to businesses engaged in the design, architecture, engineering and construction of new infrastructure and new developments or in the production or fabrication of products and services, including to the mining or agricultural industries.  Also open to motor dealers, automotive repairers, courier and transport companies and companies specialising in logistics and distribution.

Excellence in Community Services – less than 20 employees

Excellence in Community Services – 20 or more employees

Open to not for profit organisations, charities, disability services, Government or community volunteers and other businesses/organisations whose core business includes relief of poverty, sickness or distress, needs of the aged including residential care, social assistance services, advancement of religion, advancement of education and provision of childcare service on a non-profit basis, including initiatives in social enterprise and charitable work.

Excellence in Professional Services – less than 20 employees

Excellence in Professional Services – 20 or more employees

Open to businesses engaged in healthcare and other medical services including general practitioners, residential care, pathology and diagnostic imaging, dental, optometry, physiotherapy, chiropractic and osteopathic services. Legal, accounting, management consulting, real estate agents, valuators, property management, veterinary services, translation services, event management, banking, building societies, investment services, insurance, financial advisers, asset management and brokering, mortgage and financial brokering, marketing, marketing research, advertising agencies and services such as copywriting and publishing.

Apprentice of the Year

Open to all Apprentices who completed their apprenticeship in the last calendar year or who are in their final year in the year of the Clock Awards.   This award celebrates excellence in vocational education and training. It acknowledges the opportunities created by employers, and recognises the initiative employees have shown during their apprenticeship. The Apprentice of the Year will be decided by a local panel on the basis of a submission and interview of selected applicants.

Trainee of the Year

Open to all Trainees who completed their traineeship in the last calendar year or who are in their final year in the year of the Clock Awards.   This award celebrates excellence in vocational education and training. It acknowledges the opportunities created by employers, and recognises the initiative employees have shown during their traineeship. The Trainee of the Year will be decided by a local panel on the basis of a submission and interview of selected applicants.

People’s Choice

Open to all businesses that are nominated.  There is no need for submissions to be completed to be eligible for this category.  The winner is determined by popular vote via the link provided in the Mudgee Clock Award website or via hardcopy submitted at The Winning Post Motor Inn, Mudgee. 

DISABILITY ACCESS AWARD

What steps has your business taken to improve/implement a disability access in to your business? Each year The Clock Awards Committee recognise a businesses who has made a difference in the lives of people with a disability and helps to improve access for people with a disability.

This category recognises a business that has been operating for less than two years that delivers a product/service/idea/invention with credible potential. This award recognises early-stage start ups that have a solid chance of market success, and strongly displays the entrepreneurial spirit. 

outstanding young employee

This Young Business Person award recognises an inspirational young employee aged between 18-35 years who has built a successful career with an organisation.

oUTSTANDING Young Entrepreneur

The  Outstanding Young Entrepreneur award recognises an inspirational young person aged between 18 - 35 years who, through their own commitment and passion, owns or part owns a successful business. This award recognises young business people who demonstrate outstanding entrepreneurial spirit, strategic direction and innovative ideas whilst providing inspiration to a new generation of upcoming young business people.

Award winner proceeds as a finalist to the Western NSW Business Chamber Awards, subject to meeting the terms and conditions of the NSW Business Chamber.

OUTSTANDING Business Leader

The Outstanding Business Leader award recognises the positive contribution made to business by business people and professionals. The award recognises those who demonstrate outstanding entrepreneurial spirit, strategic business direction and innovative ideas, whilst providing inspiration to a new generation of upcoming business leaders. Individuals entering into this category can be self-employed or employed by a business.

Recognises businesses that have made significant contributions to their industry through the introduction or improvement of an idea, method, technology, process or application.

The Excellence in Small Business award recognises a business (employing less than 20 FTE employees on payroll in Australia such as contractors, casuals and labour hire staff*) that has attained significant growth and is able to demonstrate the specific strategies and processes implemented to achieve sustainable growth in the previous 24 months.

Award winner proceeds as a finalist to the Western NSW Business Chamber Awards, subject to meeting the terms and conditions of the NSW Business Chamber.

Excellence in Business (for businesses employing 20 or more employees*)

To be selected from each of the 20 or More Employees categories above.

The Excellence in Business award recognises a business (employing more than 20 FTE employees on payroll in Australia such as contractors, casuals and labour hire staff) that has attained significant growth and is able to demonstrate the specific strategies and processes implemented to achieve sustainable growth over the previous 24 months.
